Mocha Protein Balls

Makes approx 16. balls

Ingredients

1 cup oats

1 tablespoon flax seeds

1/2 cup dates

1 shot fresh coffee

1/4 cup hazelnuts

1.5 scoops choc protein powder

1 teaspoon cacao powder

extra cacao powder for rolling

Method

Place dates in a cup with fresh shot of coffee and soak for at least 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, blend oats and flax seeds in a food processor or blender until the consistency is fine like a flour. Empty the “oat flour” into a mixing bowl with the protein powder and cacao powder.

Add the dates, coffee and hazelnuts to the food processor and blend until smooth.

Add this mixture to the oat flour and mix together with your hands. If this is too dry, add a touch of water until the mixture is sticky in consistency. *It is important not to add too much water as it will make the mixture too sticky and will not roll properly.

Place cacao on a plate. Using your hands roll mixture into balls, then lightly roll in cacao to coat.

Place in fridge for at least 30 minutes, then eat :)

*Using food handling gloves makes this a much cleaner process!!
